English Sparkling Wine: The New Champagne

Kent is fast becoming the sparkling wine capital of England, thanks to its chalky soil, mild climate, and passionate winemakers. With the region's temperature now matching what Champagne’s was a decade ago, it’s no surprise that English sparkling wine is taking the wine world by storm. In fact, several renowned Champagne houses are snapping up Kentish vineyards to craft their very own English sparkling wine.

Why Kent is the Future of Sparkling Wine:

  • Kent’s climate now mirrors Champagne’s from 50 years ago, making it ideal for growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier—key grapes for sparkling wine.

  • The unique Kentish terroir creates wines with exceptional freshness, complexity, and finesse.

  • Alongside sparkling wine, Kent is gaining recognition for still wines, including Chardonnay, known for its elegance, and Bacchus, celebrated for its vibrant, zesty profile.

  • Kent's vineyards are winning global awards, cementing English sparkling wine tours as a top experience for wine enthusiasts.

From the crisp minerality of a Blanc de Blancs to the vibrant fruit notes of a Rosé Brut, you’ll learn why English sparkling wine is so popular. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or just love a good glass of fizz, this tour is a sparkling celebration of Kent's wine revolution.

FAQs

What shoes should I wear?

We’ll be walking through the vineyards on uneven ground so you will need flat shoes. Sturdy sandals are fine in dry weather but you’ll want covered shoes if the ground is damp.

What if it rains?

All of our vineyards have covered tasting areas. We may change the tour route to limit the time outside

Are there dietary options?

As standard we will provide a cheese or charcuterie plate, if you are vegan or have an allergy please drop us an email and we can arrange for an alternative ahead of the tour
